Athlete Requirements:
DiscNS U19 Participation Agreement (Includes Media Consent)
Submit to the DiscNS Junior Ultimate Committee for athletes participating in a high school ultimate series event. Athletes cannot participate unless they have submitted a completed agreement form.

Submit to your school athletic director.
Coaches and Team Volunteer Requirements:

Sideline Learning is used to manage coach and team volunteer registration. Select "High School Ultimate Coach" as the role for your profile and upload the following documents:
Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check valid within the past 2 years. DiscNS annually budgets funds to screen individuals who promote and coach disc sports among Nova Scotian youth. If you are working with youth to promote disc sports in Nova Scotia and need a new criminal record check valid within 2 years, contact the board at info@discns.ca.
Team roster submission
DiscNS must collect information regarding participants in accordance with the Participation Data Reporting Policy and Event Sanctioning Policy.
Event organizers can circulate a form (i.e., PDF or Google Forms) for coaching teams to complete. The event data is to be submitted to DiscNS.

DiscNS organizes, based on community expressed interest, ultimate-specific National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) coaching courses to be hosted in Nova Scotia.

Designed for coaches 16+ years of age who work with new/entry-level players, this workshop will focus on how to instruct the basic throws and rules of Ultimate. The role of the coach, planning practices, ethical issues around coaching and the needs of the athletes, will also be covered in this 1-day workshop that takes place both in the classroom and on the field or gym.
Pre-requisite: N/A
Designed for coaches 16+ years of age who work with U18 competitive players (e.g. high school competitive programs, competitive junior programs) or adult developmental teams programs. The participants will understand learning styles and appropriate feedback through hands-on activities. They will learn how to identify and correct common Ultimate errors, and how to lead drills for Ultimate. This 16-hour course usually takes place in-person on a weekend over Saturday and Sunday.
Pre-requisite: NCCP Ultimate Competition – Introduction
Designed for coaches 16+ years of age who work with Train to Compete athletes (e.g. junior club teams, university club teams, Junior National Teams) or adult competitive programs. The participants learn how to break down skills and tactical analysis, observe and discover gaps in the athletes’ performances, and select corrective measures to ensure athletes perform at their best. The participants will apply their understanding by observing and analyzing videos of individual players in a practice and a competitive environment.

Ultimate Canada currently sets requirements for coaches attending the Canadian Ultimate Championships (CUC) and the Canadian University Ultimate Championships (CUUC).
